My Jean Dilemma
I have to recant. Just under a week ago I stated I could not see myself paying for protein powder unless it was 50% off on sale. Well I had a dilemma this weekend. My parents live in Ohio and my mom sent me some clothes. I hate shopping and my mom has a better taste in selection of clothes then I do. Anyway she sent me some clothes and the pants she sent me should have fit. One pair was a shot waist line pants so they felt like they were going to slip off. They was not big on me the opposite. They fit but I have a high waist and when I sat down I had a plumbers but view. And I had no belt that would fit. So I put on another pair and the legs fit but I could not button the pants. OMGGGGG!!! I thought to myself I have done as much as possible without going crazy to at least maintain my weight. In the past 2 years since having my last child I gained over 20 lbs. I may be over 40 but come on. I rarely eat out. I or my husband cook and I mean we cook. We do not buy or cook process foods or at least overly processed food, like spaghetti sauce or packaged spaghetti. I even stop for now eating 100% commercial wheat bread because of all the additive and sugars it has, but I did buy some bread that was vegan called Vogel. It actually taste great. You should not deprive yourself of things that are good but may not be good to eat on a everyday practice, but take another route to be more healthy and still be reasonably good to eat.

I needed to change my meals a little more. I figure if I replace my dairy intake and add protein powder that had no sugar and was low in carbohydrate that would give my body a chance to detox and hopefully loose weight. I cannot lower my calorie intake for I am only eating one meal a day, drinking 2 protein drinks and eating two protein bars. I need some carbs to help balance the protein. I do not want to have extremely low blood levels. I pray what I am doing will help me lose some weight, so that I can stay positive. I want to be the weight I was before I had my second child. I will blog my progress soon. So consider this week one.

Anyway I could not deplete my breakfast nor lunch. I have one full meal for dinner and I drink my homemade meal replacement drinks for breakfast and lunch. So I had to think. There was a Health food store not far from were I live. And there prices on certain food items were reasonable. So I packed my children up and off we went. I spent over an hour look, search groping protein drink powders looking for any powder that did not have oatmeal, pea, soy, or brown rice. For I knew when I make my drinks for the next day those type of ingredients will swell and become thick, and tacky, so I look for hemp. But I knew I would have to by hemp powder or seeds every week. I need a powder that would last for at least a month. I spoke to a person who worked in that particular area and she should me a lot of different protein powders. I wanted to buy a good one with no flavor and would last at least 3 weeks and did not break the bank. I came across a protein powder that shined a head of every protein powders on the shelf. This protein powder was vegan based, had no soy, dairy free and was hypoallergenic.
There were 2 types: Protein and Blend, The Protein contained brown rice and the Blend had raw and organic protein, cranberry protein, and hemp seed protein. Both protein powders had substantial proteins. The Warrior Protein powder with brown rice had 17 grams of protein and the Blend protein powder had 20 grams. Both protein powders had only 1 gram of carbohydrate and no sugars. If you buy the flavored protein powder it will contain the Stevia sweetener which over powered my meal replacement drinks. I hoped that I could returned the product and get the powder that had no flavor which was called Natural Warrior Blend. The company's name is SunWarrior. I emailed the company to see if I had a chance to return it. I got a quick response and the company stated I could. I did return to the health food store and had no problems getting a trade. When I made my drinks that night they were much better. I even made a roasted red potato soup. It contained the roasted red potato, roasted carrots, onion and garlic, kale, celery, cilantro, my spice blend, and chicken broth, You may need to add a little sea salt for the soup can be bland. "Oh" one more thing to mention, the price for these protein powders are $10.00 more retail. If you would like to visit SunWarrior click the name.
